As part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Tech Lancaster has received funding from Lancaster City Council to run a Green Skills project. This project aims to encourage Green Skills training in the Lancaster District, benefiting the local community and local businesses by Leveling Up. The key pillars of the UKSPF are:

  • Boost productivity, pay, jobs and living standards by growing the private sector
  • Spread opportunities and improve public services
  • Restore a sense of community, local pride and belonging
  • Empower local leaders and communities

Tech Lancaster’s Green Skills project aims to introduce people to Green Skills & new industries and point them in the right direction for the future e.g. employment, other courses, careers advice.

We will undertake engagement events to raise awareness of Green Skills in the community.

We have also created a Green Skills taster course to lead to further skills training. Our short Green Skills course will be pitched at Level 2, to introduce the wide range of Green Skills opportunities and act as a signposting service for further skills development, formal education or employment.

Where there are gaps in delivery we will facilitate targeted encouragement of Green Skills Training providers to deliver in our District.
